Happily Homeschooling in CA

Published by ElementalMom at 8:06 am under Politics, Unschooling

The decision came out yesterday from the Cailfornia Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Three with regard to the In re Rachel L. case.

Yes, Virginia, you can homeschool in this state.

All the relevant info can be found on CHN’s website.

Now everyone can quit freaking out and we can file our paperwork this October, right on schedule. Oh gosh, now this means I have to come up with a good name for our school. Suggestions welcome!

This is great news. We may be following your footsteps in a year or so. How about the Excellent Adventure School: Doin’ it the right way?
    Too much? ;)

I also agree with calling it The Excellent Adventure School.

The Hudson Harp Academy of Higher Piracy and Lower Comedy

We were very boring: Don Quixote Academy. That way, I can use our logo and make lots of t-shirts that will do double duty — boat uniforms AND school uniforms. Heh.

Like we’d ever wear a uniform.

Well you could go with the humorous and call it the Hudson’s Hawks School Of Piracy. :)

You could call it Seaborne Academy, which sounds nice and yet still has a pun in it. The Wavy Gravy Pod probably would get the cops over to sniff your basil. :)

    Dolphin Pod
    Fish School
Blackbeard’s School for Young Gentlemen and Ladies
    Rainbow Academy
    Boarding School (har!)

Oh my, the possibilities are endless!
