I am the mother of four children (19,17,14,11) and in Germany it is very natural to be free in the choice of how you want to give birth - only if there are severe health risks is a ceasarean recommended! I had twice given birth in a hospital and twice I chose to have the children at home - which I don´t regret having done so, because it was the very best environment for me. I had severe hemorrhage and losing at least 3 liter of blood, requiring stay in intensive care and blood transfusion. For my second I am glad that I had a totally drug free birth.
