Conscious Woman of the Month — Maddy Oden

I knew about Tatia; when cesarean activism is your thing, you start seeing a lot of maternal mortality. And in ICAN’s world, cytotec is considered to be nothing short of the most evil chemical in the world. All my admiration goes out to Maddy and the work she’s doing.

For my first child, I was induced with two tablets cytotec. I had severe hemorrhage and losing at least 3 liter of blood, requiring stay in intensive care and blood transfusion. For my second I am glad that I had a totally drug free birth.

Oh my gosh, Rani… two tablets? That’s an awful lot. I hope the careprovider you were seeing has changed their ways. And I’m really glad you’re OK.

    Dear Laureen,
I´ve just come across your very lovely website and am quite shocked to read about the currant practise of increasing ceasareans as a method of giving birth!
I am the mother of four children (19,17,14,11) and in Germany it is very natural to be free in the choice of how you want to give birth – only if there are severe health risks is a ceasarean recommended!
I had twice given birth in a hospital and twice I chose to have the children at home – which I don´t regret having done so, because it was the very best environment for me.
Thank you very much for sharing your life!
    Greetings from
    Marlies
