This is so cool.
The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) hosted an open international design competition for ideas responding to sea level rise in San Francisco Bay and beyond.
The winners are here.
The last one, Evolutionary Recovery, is my fave. But you probably could have guessed that.
The problem with fabulous ideas, of course, is that you have to achieve buy-in, and that is not going to happen while shoreline is largely the province of the wealthy and relatively entrenched. But once they’re underwater, well, I’m sure they’ll be open to new concepts…
