More on Sewage Stoppage

At last, something resembling good news about Poo in the Bay:

Success in Burlingame

Baykeeper reached a successful settlement with the City of Burlingame to end the City’s sewage spills to the Bay. Burlingame – one of the worst sewage polluters in the Bay Area – has agreed to substantially improve its sewer system and end illegal discharges to the Bay. Read the San Francisco Chronicle piece about our victory in Burlingame.

New Suits to Prevent Sewage Spills

Baykeeper filed suit against the Town of Hillsborough and the Burlingame Hills area of San Mateo County, which are also spilling sewage into the Bay and contributing to Burlingame’s overflow problems. Read more about our work toward a comprehensive end to sewage pollution from San Mateo County.

It’s nice to see some motion happening on this front, but I really wish I was seeing more about this, or that more people were unhappy about the state of things with the Bay-As-Toilet problem.
