As a boater and a birdwatcher (bird lover) this is spill is starting to make me very angry. Of course we don’t know what happened on board that vessel, but come on! Some fool didn’t know enough to look at the radar in heavy fog while approaching possibly the most obvious obstacle for a big ship leaving the Bay and our sacred resource gets trashed.
A few years ago I may not have felt so deeply impacted. However, having spent so much time sailing on the Bay over the last two summers, and having learned when the various waterfowl arrive and depart through daily observation on my bike ride to work in South San Francisco over the last three years, I find this sickening.
