San Diego Calling…

This morning, Jason received a phone call from Chevron, Inc. This seemed, well, odd.

IncomingWeather Until he answered, and discovered that Cap’n Ken and Minor had stopped in to this fuel station, “the first thing you see out of Mexico,” to refuel, and Cap’n Ken was in such a hurry, he had the fuel dock guys call us to tell us he’d left. They’d rocketed out of there with all haste, hoping to get here before the incoming storm system made their lives difficult. Which means, our boat will most likely be home sometime between Wednesday and Friday.

So I’m sitting here trying to write. As if.

I am freaking out. I’m thrilled. I’m terrified.

I really think you do the best you can in these circumstances, but really, thank god I went rowing this morning, or I’d be a wreck. Course, out there on the Mare Island Straits, the wind is howling, enough that our solid steel whaleboat with ten people in it was still going sideways. I got home and started researching boat heaters, since our boat, having had a tropical life, has AC but no heat. I see wool fuzzy socks in our futures.

I‘m sure I’ll recognize all this as great news, once I stop hyperventilating.

Good thing I did yoga before I went rowing… I swear I sound like the guy from Airplane in reverse…
