Parlez-vous Catamaran?

I‘m writing this post from the Internet Cafe in the cafeteria of my workplace. There are probably 40 people flaked out with their laptops taking advantage of the wifi and sucking down caffeinated beverages of choice simultaneously.

There’s a man sitting just on the other side of the wall from me, speaking French excitedly and quite loudly, in this small communal environment. And I swear, I immediately wondered what a catamaran person was doing here. Since of course, men speaking excitedly in French lately translates in my head into boat brokers having it out.

Alexis the Wonder Broker is French, although raised here in America. You’d never know he was French, until he says things like “Cassamance”, and then the accent is right there. It’s pretty cute. And of course, the French are the big Catamaran builders and adopters. I have no idea why that is; maybe someone more educated in the ways of boats than I will enlighten me.

And of course the selling broker was French. Smoked like a chimney, and talked about “zee galleee” a lot. =)

Oh man, I am positive I just heard the guy in the other cube say “Lagoon”. Clearly I’m hearing things.

I believe the French just like to go fast. There is so many fast French boats like Jeanneau, Beneteau and so on. They also build a lot of very light and fast aluminum boats.

Anyway I love your blog and enjoy reading it.
