God says, “This Boat”

Just got a call from Kim the Finance Goddess. All the paperwork has finally cleared, all the legal t’s and i’s have been dealt with, everyone’s happy, the boat is well and truly ours.

And now, as they say, is the rest of the story.

Turns out that two offers came in for the boat after ours did. Both for more money. And you know what stood between us and losing the boat? The (former… eeek!) owner’s integrity. Wow.

I‘ve had this sort of thing happen in my life before. Where I am heading in a direction, all kinds of weird stuff happens, and with the luck of babes and fools, I end up in the best of all worlds. The job I’m in now was a similar sort of fortuitous circumstance, that I didn’t even know enough to appreciate fully until someone else pointed out all the rocks I’d avoided sheerly by accident.

Sometimes, stuff gets set in motion at a level you and your plans have zero control over, and you have to just hope your karma is good enough to get you through it.

And apparently this time, it is. And we are grateful.
